Congratulations to the Freeman Catholic College Class of 2021 on your outstanding HSC results!Β

Our school climbed 36 positions to 74th in the Daily Telegraph media rankings (calculated using the ratio of the number of Band 6 results to the number of exams sat by the school).

That ranking means Freeman was the highest performing coeducational school in Sydney Catholic Schools.

We also recorded 212 Distinguished Achievements and 10 All Rounders, while seven students also placed first in their course in Sydney Catholic Schools.Β

Melinda Melham, Principal at Freeman, said the 2021 HSC graduates demonstrated that even in the most adverse circumstances achieving your personal best is never impossible.Β

β€œFreeman was ranked 74th in NSW schools, proving that when our young men and women work hard, persevere, trust their teachers and work together they can achieve anything,” Ms Melham said.Β

β€œThese results provide opportunities for the future, which is our hope for all graduates; to pursue a career they aspire to and be prepared for life after school.

β€œCongratulations to all the staff and students, and the outgoing Principal, Mr. Ray Wooby, who worked tirelessly to achieve this success; they are an inspiration to all future graduates.”

To cap off an incredible 2021, 18 Sydney Catholic Schools ranked among the top 150 high schools and confirmed its reputation as one of the top performing systems of schools in Australia.Β

Sydney Catholic Schools’ unprecedented academic success saw its schools reach new heights with the number of distinguished achievers rising from 2486 in 2019 and 2511 in 2020 to 3115 in 2021.

β€œTo the class of 2021, we extend our heartfelt congratulations and admiration,” Sydney Catholic Schools’ Executive Director, Tony Farley, said.

The results follow a series of ground-breaking HSC excellence initiatives that involved all 33 secondary schools meeting to share and analyse HSC performance data, identify key strategies for achieving academic success and find ways to share resources and opportunities across our 33 schools sitting the HSC.Β

β€œOur system-wide approach to excellence means that every student and teacher has access to a huge range of resources and experiences that a large system like ours can provide,” Sydney Catholic Schools Director of Education and Research, Dr Kate O’Brien, said.
